Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine gauge needles into points that have been proven to help specific health problems.

Modern research has confirmed that these specific points help the body to heal. The Chinese mapped these points some 3000 years ago.

The points are set on meridians. A map of the body and their correspoinding organs.

You can go on the internet to find out what the World Health Organization has confirmed that Acupuncture can treat.

What to expect

On your first visit we will have an interview of your symptoms.

I will explain to you what I am seeing as far as Chinese Theory of Acupuncture, in an easy understandable way.

I will formulate a treatment plan for you  month by month.

I treat the whole person, not just the symptoms that have arisen.

I want to get to the root of the problem not just the stems.

On your second appointment

I use sterilized one time use needles. I may want to do cupping or moxa with the treatment.

Cupping is a form of treatment that uses suction cups to release stagnation of an area in the body.

Moxa is an herb that moves Qi and is either put on the end of a needle or directly onto the skin.

After the needles are in I will leave you to cook as the say. This is where the healing begins.

Herbs are used to help the body come into balance along with acupuncture treatments.

Liquid vitamins and supplements are used to nourish the body and mind.

Most patients will have more questions than can be answered here. Please feel free to call me and we can set up a phone consultation where you can ask all of your questions.
